The Environmental Science Graduate Program (PPGCA), started in 2005, is a interdisciplinary program focused in the environmental issues of the Amazon region, but nevertheless intimately concerned with social problems of its inhabitants. The program's main goal is to generate researchers specialized in the fields of Climate and Social-environmental Dynamics research in Amazonia, by providing simultaneously a solid education at the specific research fields as well as a systemic understanding of the environmental problems in Amazon region.
The program offers both the degrees of Master and Doctor of Environmental Sciences. Those are both full-time programs with maximum completion time of 24 months, for the Master's program, and 48 months for the Doctorate program.
Induce the generation and consolidation of scientific and technological basis for the effective integration of environmental concerns in local and regional development process, making it sustainable in a context of global changes.
